This is great, we tried 3 bottles before we found one that fit and the top rubber stopper is still above the lid but one rubber stopper is in the bottle and its good and tight. Although it was a little work to find a appropriate size bottle, the end product was totally worth the effort. We ended up using a wine bottle.
After cleaning the bottle and removing the label with hot soapy water, my husband put citronella torch fuel in the bottle, then inserted the metal top and then threaded the wick through the hole. My husband than installed the torch holder into our fence post using a handheld drill. Last we attached the bottle to the holder using the provided clamp and screws. Everything held firmly and securely. When first lighting the torch, the tape on the top portion of the wick will burn off and this causes the flame to burn higher and wider than normal. Never did I feel like it was unsafe though. The holder holds the bottle a good safe distance from the fence. This really turned out great and I want more for our backyard space. It adds a rustic look. I really love that you can choose any color bottles to use. I also appreciated how the snuffer lid was included on a chain already attached to the holder. In this setup, from screws, to nuts and bolts everything is functional, no running out to buy the right size screws cause they included too small ones. This is a perfect kit. I was given a complimentary product for reviewing purposes. I take reviewing seriously and always give a 100% honest and unbiased review. I welcome any questions. ![]() ![]() | ||||||||
