This is nice, I was hoping for the blue and white bird but got a red and green one instead, I don't know if I was supposed to get that. It takes 3 AA batteries that do not come with it. It was easy to put together and works just as stated. It is a recording of some bird sounds and a babbling brook that plays. It has a button at the base that will turn it on and make it respond to motion and noise or turn it off so it will stay quiet. It is very sensitive to noise and vibrations. i was standing in the kitchen and it is sitting on our fireplace mantel and dropped something on the floor and it went off. The birds movements are fast, almost too fast, but its movements are also complex, its tail goes up and down, it flaps its wings and moves its head back and forth and its mouth opens and closes. The detail on this is very good and it is really pretty. My five year old really enjoys it and our living room is full of bird decor, so we love it too. I received this at a slight discount in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.
