I ordered this to look at my diamond rings. I know the grade and have heard jewelers describe while looking at my rings under their loupes so I was curious to see myself. This came in a cute little container, it is small and folds into itself for easy storage. It has two magnifying glasses with their own bright led light that you can set with a small switch. I cleaned my rings and then used the big magnifier to look at my engagement ring and I was able to see the diamond details pretty well. It took a little practice and the light is super bright when reflected back into your eyes so I recommend being careful. I was able to see the small defect in my diamond with this loupe. I tried to use the small magnifying glass and couldn't see anything much. I used the large magnifying glass to check out my wedding bands smaller diamonds and prongs. I was able to see clearly carefully positioning the magnifying glass. So yes, this takes a little practice getting the right angle and distance from your jewels. I recommend this for people like me who want to inspect their own jewels.
